1 From the MDF panel,
use a circular saw with
straightedge to cut a 1520mm
x 390mm top and 1520mm x
760mm front. Tie a pencil to
string and adjust it to be
740mm long, pin the other end
halfway along the long side of
the front piece, mark an arch
and cut with a jigsaw.
3 On the front of the cubes,
apply construction adhesive
along the top and down the
sides to position the MDF arch.
Apply adhesive over the top of
the cubes to position the MDF
top. Clamp, wipe away any
excess adhesive with a clean
damp cloth and leave to cure.
Tip: Enlist a second pair of
hands to help lift the MDF
pieces into position.

2 To join the cubes, apply
construction adhesive over one
side and clamp together. Use a
3mm bit to pre-drill four holes
through the joined sides, 40mm
in from the edges, securing
with 60mm screws. Cover the
screws and the centre join with
filler, leaving to dry. Smooth the
MDF edges and all over the
cubes with 180-grit abrasive
paper, then wipe away dust
with a cloth. Apply primer and
two coats of water-based
enamel to the MDF and cubes,
leaving to dry after each.
Tip: No need to paint the top
of the cubes or underneath.
Keep in mind...
■ Follow the manufacturer's
instructions when assembling the
cube unit. To help prevent toppling,
anchor units to the wall using the
supplied brackets and fixings
suitable for your wall type.
■ When cutting, sanding and
drilling, always wear safety gear
and work in a well-ventilated area.
